Love for the Surrey Hills
I love living in the Surrey Hills! The majority of my work is inspired by walking the countryside in which I live. My favourite landscapes include the meadowland beneath The Chantries, Abinger Roughs, Abinger Common, Holmbury St Mary and the Merrow Downs. My paintings reflect the ever-changing colours and textures of the seasons. I always return to walking sections of the North Downs Way, the ancient pilgrimage route from Winchester to Canterbury cathedral. I often wonder who has walked in the footsteps before me. For me, happiness is being outdoors walking in nature, listening to bird song, spotting native wildflowers and breathing the colours in.
