The grey blue sky in my latest painting 'Harvest' works well in contrast with the warm pink, burgundy, tangerine and mellow yellow of the landscape. This painting is inspired by my visit to Suffolk over the summer. I walked the countryside which was filled with the swishing and swaying of wheat and barley in the fields. I also soaked up the surrounding colours of the painted, medieval buildings in the town of Lavenham. 'Harvest' represents all the joys of slowing down one's pace of life and retreating into the landscape of rural England.
